AOC seminar
melkor/haujobb
Art of Coding, the initiative around enlisting the demoscene as UNESCO intangible cultural heritage as first digital culture ever, is gearing up for the next phase. Based on the successes in Finland, Germany and Poland from 2020 on, and with activists working on next steps in France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Denmark and a few more countries, it´s time to look further down the road on the next phase starting the preparations for the international application. As that´s what its supposed to be from the beginning according of the realities and identity of the demoscene as transnational culture and community. Join us for a discussion on the next steps in the next 5+ years to come, as we want to include all voices possible and also will need a lot of help, from community to communications to website to potentially fundraising for travel and documentation and translation for the years to come.

Coding for the new GMod cartridges for the C64
Jens Schönfeld
Since it's inception for Sam's Journey, GMod2 has taken the C64 cartridge world by storm: 512k is plenty for a C64 title, and saving high scores on the cart is giving titles a real console feeling. Many authors, publishers and even copycats have jumped on the train and are making GMod2-compatible hardware. However, component shortages and 5V technology being phased out for good means that it won't be economically viable to produce GMod2 in the future. In this seminar, the current flash technologies will be shown, and how to adapt them to retro computers such as the C64 hardware-wise. Options for new pieces of hardware will be discussed from the C64 software (=register-level) point of view.
How to run a bytejam - and why you would want to
aldroid
Bytejams are livecoding sessions, where a few TIC-80 coders hang out, make some art, and listen to some good tunes. It's a great way to build communities, inspire people to get regular practice, learn new skills and effects, and create a stunning form of entertainment in the meanwhile. This seminar will include the technical setup, the practicalities of livecoding events, and the community response that's built up around it.
How to scene for beginners

Let's build a Bare Metal C64 (BMC64)
SvOlli
THEC64 is nice, but WE can do better, right? Randy Rossi came up with the concept of putting a Raspberry Pi 3 in a C64 case running a bare metal variant of the VICE emulator. It features 50hz/60hz smooth scrolling, low video/audio latency and a number of other features. Let's take a look on how we can build one ourself, with some hands on to completed machines afterwards.
Quo vadis, Demoscene? From Underground to Broadway, possibly
kudrix
Big dreams, no cash. What holds true for many startups seems to be the evergreen motto for our Demoscene. Same for many preservation (HW/SW) projects. Does the Scene have to stay underfunded forever? kudrix believes we are gradually building a case. Getting ourselves in a position to reach for the stars, if we desire to. He leads us on a little case journey and shares insights how he's priming the pump to acquire more Scene funding.
Shader minification for 4k - 64k intros
LLB/Ctrl-Alt-Test
Modern intros intensively rely on shaders, which can represent a significant portion of the executable file. In this presentation, we'll focus on size coding and discuss how shaders can be made smaller. We'll see how the tool Shader Minifier can help doing so: we'll review how it works, its newest features, the interesting technical bits, and how developers can get their shaders even smaller.

The Onsite Return Of The Online Belgian Beer Seminar
Franky/RBBS
Do we still have to introduce the Belgian Beer Seminar to you? If so… Welcome to your first Revision ! Here we will wander through the glowing fields of stuff that beer is made of, receive background information on various beers (it's usually monks, a French revolution and then 20th century marketing btw) and all in all have a good time. If you have already survived a previous beer seminar, welcome back and please remember that there are no bathroom breaks in the seminar and that you have to be 18+ and sober in order to be let in. Seats are limited and a participation fee - to pay for the beer you will be tasting - of 10 euro is in place, cash at the door only.
